Here are the rules for the Hallway competition.

Well, we had only two contestants for the contest, Derek Jones and Alex Brown.  Hence, we chose to make the even more of a demonstration than a real contest (i.e. with prizes and all).  Disclaimer.. Alex Brown is your humble secretary and is generating these minutes.  Hence, any bias in the contest description is to be expected.  And the reason why he didn’t get any pictures will become clear.

In our June 2010 meeting we held what turned out a min-pre-trial-draft Hallway competition. Two people were brave enough to enter a robot: John Waters and another gentleman who I forgot to ask his name. If you read this, please identify yourself.

The class for the June 2010 was "Introduction to LISP" by Bruce Weimer. This tutorial is an overview of what was covered in that short introductory class. This article will cover the introduction to LISP and how to get started. A follow-up article will introduce you to using LISP in a LEAF robot.

Introduction

Have you ever wanted to add sensors to your robot - but weren't sure how to do it ? In this two-part article I will show you how to build a pair of inexpensive sensors which share a Basic Stamp 1 computer.

Here is an interesting and informative PIC tutorial provided by Lukas Hoffmann from Emory University, Neuroscience.  He is a member of the Robotics and Automation Society at the University of Pittsburg (http://www.pitt.edu/~sorc/robotics/).

The tutorial gives an introduction to the PIC16F877A microcontroller, how to hook it up and make it work.  There are also example programs you can write to program the 16F877A to do things.
